Audition info

Who can audition?

Harambee Chamber Orchestra is open to students 7th Grade and higher, but may include younger students with permission from the instructor, on an audition basis. 

How are members selected?

Members are selected based on submitted auditions, and will reflect the communities from which they come. Each selected musician will become a valued leader within the group:  selecting repertoire, leading sectionals, directing the ensemble, helping manage community outreach, and being responsible for each other in a supportive environment.

What is required for auditions?

Along with filling out our short questionnaire, prospective orchestra members must perform the required excerpts from for their instrument (links will download sheet music):

and a piece of your choice

How are auditions submitted?

Prospective musicians should record themselves by video or audio and submit the file(s) through our interface. If you have any problems with audition submissions, email us at xxxx@harambeeorchestra.com.

When are auditions due?

Auditions for the 2018-2019 season are due by 11:59pm, October 1, 2018. If you have missed the deadline, you may still be able to audition based on available space. Please contact us at info@harambeeorchestra.com.
