The spirit of harambee<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_separator css_animation=”alpha-anim”][vc_column_text css_animation=”alpha-anim”]In 1963, Kenya\u2019s first President, Jomo Kenyatta, called on the people to adopt the spirit of Harambee<\/b> meaning \u201call pull together\u201d in Swahili. He used Harambee as a call to action, urging the people to unite and help build the newly independent nation together. Over the years, the Harambee concept was expanded to embrace social tolerance, harmony and unity, to facilitate equal access and opportunities for all citizens to realize their full potential.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”alpha-anim”]In the spirit of this idea, Harambee Chamber Orchestra is a place for young\u00a0musicians of diverse origins to express themselves in a supportive, collaborative environment.<\/p>\n
